Let Peace Grow! You are all invited to join the global sound wave experience on Sunday Sept 21 at 2:00pm in Iowa City. September 21 is the UN International Day of Peace and this year voices from every corner of the planet will be singing at 2:00 their local time to send a powerful message: We are one world, one people and we stand together in unity, community and peace. Let’s create a beautiful vibration that can be a healing balm for our hearts and that we can send out to the world!
This week, Saturday, Sept. 13th, we will meet at Full Moon Studio, 3 p.m. 1210 S. Gilbert St., Suite 105, Iowa City, Iowa. We'll be painting a Community Sing banner at 2, if you'd like to come help with that. Please note this change in place and time. We usually meet at City Park, but there were some issues this week. Check this site for future meeting details.
This week, Saturday, Aug 9th, we'll meet at 11 a.m. at Upper City Park.
Iowa City Community Sing's Summer Schedule: We'll continue to meet on 2nd and 4th Saturdays at 3 p.m., but resuming our warm weather venue of Upper City Park.
We'll gather at or near picnic shelter #1. This is the first shelter you encounter when you go up Park Road (after turning onto Park from Dubuque St) heading west, and turn right at the top of the hill. The shelter is west of the swimming pool. Note that the turnoff for Upper City Park is different from and beyond the turnoff for Lower City Park. Questions - 319 333-2006.
Note: On June 14th, we'll be leading songs at the "No Kings Protest" in downtown Iowa City (11 a.m.) There will be no City Park Sing on that day. Next Sing is on June 28th.

Iowa City Community Sing usually meets twice a month for an hour and a half. During Covid, we've been meeting outdoors, in parks or backyards, on Saturday afternoons. Watch this space for information on where and when we meet. We'll also post info on Sings led by visiting song leaders, singing festivals and other Community Sing-related happenings.
